Title or Location: English ship Revenge 1577
Revenge was an English galleon, built in 1577 and captured by the Spanish in 1591, sinking soon afterwards. It is considered one of the best galleons of its time, and it was the flag ship of Sir Francis Drake. This model, scale 1/350 , and the display case, were completely built from scratch and it took about 3 months to complete this work. Its all cedar and mahogany, also some other precious woods were used in the intarsia as well. Its a little piece of histoy I get to enjoy every day in my c

Title or Location: Archer Park
This is the piece I created while hosting the most recent McAllen Watercolor Group meetup. It's the local coffee shop that's across the street from Archer Park. Archer Park is a great location because the buildings are all different styles of architecture. It's become on of my favorite places for plein air painting.

Title or Location: Charlie Fox
In this painting I wanted to convey the intensity of the fox's stare - that something has caught his eye and he is standing perfectly still watching it! I am always intrigued with how light hits a subject - this is why I love using oil paints as you can get such a depth of colour (I layer up the colours) and then the last few brushstrokes are the highlights and that is when the magic happens!

Title or Location: Lucy
This is Lucy, one of our favorite family dogs. She is the sweetest pooch and loves to ride in the car, windows opened. She is in her glory as her ears catch the wind and almost smiles. I tried to capture her wonderful nature in this watercolor painting. I used very heavy pigment to give detail to her fur. I so love the many styles watercolor allows you to create. It is one of my favorite paintings because, I Love Lucy:)
